About This Spot

Stepping into Slice of Heaven in Mocanaqua is like entering a warmly preserved piece of local history, where the patina of an old church meets the familiar comfort of a neighborhood pizza joint. The stained glass windows still catch the light beautifully, casting soft hues over worn wooden tables and the bustling kitchen that now occupies what was once the altar. There’s a gentle hum here—part conversation, part the sizzling of specialty pies and platters—which invites you to slow down and savor the moment.

The pace here is unhurried but lively, carried by the kind, heartfelt service that feels less like a transaction and more like catching up with neighbors. You might find yourself drawn in by the shared stories—the origins of the building, local lore about the Mud River nearby, or just friendly banter from servers who clearly take pride in welcoming guests as if they were old friends. It’s the kind of place where small touches matter: a recommended slice that turns out perfectly crisp, or a platter that arrives piled high, easing the hunger after a day spent outdoors.

Food at Slice of Heaven mirrors the spirit of the space—bold, familiar, and a little playful. The menu cleverly nods to classic favorites while exploring riffs that surprise, like pies topped with unexpected combinations or strombolis stuffed generously and baked to a golden finish. Those who venture beyond the pizza will find satisfying platters that carry the same casual care, pairing well with the warm, inviting atmosphere.

While the acoustics remind you of the building’s original purpose, lending a unique soundscape that’s part echo, part laughter, it never detracts from the easy camaraderie that fills the room. This isn’t just a stop for a quick bite—it’s a moment to connect with a place that feels part of the community’s heartbeat, a destination that’s quietly iconic in its own right.

I got a personal sweet cheese pizza well done. Gorgeous and yummy . A 10/10 for me. The server Bailey recommended it as well! She is a delight, works hard and lifts up the atmosphere. Bailey even explained to us some history of her home town and the mud river that we crossed to arrive here! If you're visiting and Want a nice spot please come by. It's so iconic. We split a French fry with gravy on it, gravy was very good and fries were crispy. Delicious Fiance got the Old Forge Pan Pizza which is mozzarella and american cheese mixed and he rates it 7.5/10 on the whole pizza scale

Don't miss out on this gem, we almost did. Climbing in Mocanaqua, and we nearly passed this unassuming, church turned pizza shop. Great staff, great food (Wings were amazing). Church altar now is the kitchen area. Stained glass still in tact. Unique space. PUNS Heavenly, Sinful... etc.

Excellent pizza and "mess" fries. Only one server so serve time was OK but not great. Server was great person though. Bldg is old church, so acoustics are not designed for lots of people talking... gets hard to hear, but design is beautiful.

“Slice of heaven” One of the best food places actually been to. Very reasonable price, the portions are very nice. Just came from hiking Worked up for appetite one thing I love that they’re open till late. The staff members their personality they welcome you with love. They are very personable and caring. Food was well done very flavorful. The place was nice and Tidy. We were there past closing time which they did not rush us out. They patiently waited until we were done. I already recommended this place to two other people the experience was awesome.

Awesome place - the church is AMAZING, and the owner Doreen is great. Chatting with her made my night! Plus fabulous pizza and super yummy cake. Love the playful name since it’s in a restored church. Such a find considering the location. Worth a trip outta the way to check the place out for sure.

A huge shout out and Thank you to Corner Pocket/Slice of Heaven for making themselves available to help us with our large order of wings. Not only did they taste excellent, the service was exceptional. Thank you for going above and beyond to make my husband's retirement gathering a succes.

It's a really cute place in a church. We had the round pie and some slices of the old forge. Both were delicious. I really like the round pie. Our waitress Kerry was top notch. Probably the best waitress anywhere. She certainly is a big asset to the eatery. Hope to return soon. .

The antipasta salad was delicious. The Stromboli with extra mushrooms was excellent. The dough was fresh not frozen. The cheese steak was unbelievable it was fresh. The roll was fresh. I recommend this place. The people that work there is so polite and friendly. Very clean. I will be going back when I am in the area. It's definitely heaven.
